I picked up this QA42A for $100.00 bucks. I wanted one and haven't found one here in NJ and I was going right past where I picked it up in NY. So before I begin to hunt part numbers and such I figured I would ask the pro's here. In the pictures you can see that the auger is way far in one direction. I don't think that is normal but not sure?? Any ideas on part numbers for the auger bearings?? I've seen old numbers NLA and guys paying $6.00 on eBay but had no luck looking at these old numbers and eBay didn't look too promising. I'm sure I can get what I need somewhere but was hoping maybe someone knew of a bearing number that would work. Something with a grease fitting would be a better setup. Thanks in advance!!

That is a great price. Summer is a great time to get winter accessories; they are often less than in winter.

Thank you - passing information along makes sense. Should replace the Two needle bearings in the chain drive shaft. B1212OH - Full Compliment (more needles)the OH stands for oil hole - make sure this lines up with your Zerk fitting when installing. Bob

dieselsmoke,
Nice looking snowthrower! Thats a good price on the bearings and holders recommended. I think I paid a lot more for the ones I got from KAMAN Bearings. Looking forward to your restorations progress. I believe I replaced the needle bearings also. Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
