Default Another use for ' PB BLASTER'

Ive had this little hang up in my throttle cable since I bought it last year. My friend Bill fixed that in about 1min..

He took my cable with a rag & blasted the entire cable with PB Blaster.

After 10min., blasted a second time with me working the throttle back & forth.

Smooth as SILK. Who would have THOUGHT?

Nik,

It's always good to have a can of PB Blaster around.

Its a little spendy but Amsoil MP (metal protector) works awesome and protects it from rusting up again. The cable on my 124 was solid when I very first got it over a year ago. Used that worked it free gave it a final spray and has been fine . And it sits outside

Even more expensive, t pull the solid wire cables out of the housing & coat them with never seize re install , clean up mess & never have a problem a gain! It's messy & time consuming but works great i learned this lesson 20 years ago , & still do it to every new cable / on every piece of equipment I get, you know what they say if its not broke don't fix it; i say if it's bran new, its a great starting point, you can almost always make it last longer & make it work better / modify for your needs at some point !

That blaster soaks right in thru the cable. That's with a liberal amount.

NIK.

After reading this, I used some Blaster on my sticky 782D throttle cable. Been spraying both ends liberally once a day for past 5 days. Workin' like a brand new cable. Great idea! Thanks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
