As a drop in mount - NO. The QA-36B was designed for the 82 Series Cubs.

Now, if your change the Drive Pulley on the Snowthrower to one from a QA-36A, then it will work.

I realize that what I'm about to say doesn't have anything to do with your original question but, in my opinion they are wanting 3 times what that thing is worth... Those people ALWAYS have an over priced snow thrower on ebay, as far as that goes ALL of their Cub stuff is way over priced.

I bought one (42") from an ebay seller for $100.00 not all that long ago. It isn't in perfect condition but it is VERY NICE (keep in mind that I bought it "out of season" which does drive the price down).

I also realize that there is more of a demand in your area for snow throwers/blowers, but keep your eyes open, a better deal will come along. Put an add in the "want add" section here.

WHOA!! I'm with Y-Sam on this one! I just bought one that needs work, but I only gave $75 for it. I think Y-Sam is correct in saying wait and find a better deal on one. Honestly, I didn't give that for my two stage with weights and chains, and it looked like it had only been used maybe 3-4 times!

Wait for a better deal. It may take time, heck it took me 3 or 4 months, but I finally came across a nice (pretty much surface rust only, really) QA-42A that was 100% complete for $150. Just wait it out, ePay always has overpriced blowers/throwers.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
