I just delt with a 1650 that wouldn't crank at all. Turned out the to be the ground strap to the frame was missing. With a good ground, the engine cranks like crazy.

Still not cranking fast enough, its cranked good about two or three times cleaned every connection any one know the amperage of at the starter when cranking

Maybe a dirty starter? My 982 cranked over really slow with a fully charged battery, new cables installed and ground off every spec of dirt and paint on the frame where it grounded - still nothing. Tried cleaning the starter, no good, ended up buying a new starter from Onan. Cranks over like anything now. Now if I could just get it to fire up and STAY running. Mine craps out when hot. So I am no further ahead than your tractor not cranking over fast enough. My starter was the original one, maybe you have the same thing - original starter getting tired?

Hope you didn't unload that diesel you have Mike? That would be a shame if you did. Ever comes a day you do want to sell, let me know on that tractor!

That's my next step Mike it has me puzzled cleaned all the contacts going to try cleaning it next. Still have the 1512 not interested in selling but if I do you will be the first to know, got an 1811 too use them as my workers. Thanks buddy see you've added to your collection as well.
