Alright so here is the problem im having. I have been working on a 1250 for a guy and finally got it home from the college shop. She runs like a top but when i tried to get it of the trailer it wouldnt go in reverse. i pushed it off the trailer and tried to go forward but couldnt. I pushed the shifter all the way forward and it would move forward slowly but quit after a few feet then go a couple feet then stop. i tried all the way in reverse and it did the same thing. I am thinking the pump may be shot.

If you have some movement, then the Charge Pump is doing it's job. Two suggestions for you. (A) Check the Hydro Fluid level and make sure it is up to the proper level. (B) If it is, then I would suggest that you replace Hydro Filter.
Sounds like you have partial fluid going to your pump as a result from being low, or restricted from a dirty filter.

It probably wouldn't hurt to take the seat pan off and do a neutral adjustment and clean the crud off the hydro.

If its an early 1250 I would check that the hydro release wasn't holding down the check valves, and if that was okay check that you don't have a broken pin in the drive shaft. Some times even with a broken drive pin the shaft will rotate enough due to resistance that you will get some hydro movement.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
