Did some research this evening into how to wire up my 1211 that I am putting a k301aqs into. I bought a 1282 ignition switch installed it and got my battery and test light out and started checking things over. Heres what I came up with,I was using my 1200 as a guide .looks like it may be easier than I thought! (crossing my fingers)
1st on the left, orange wire has no pwr yellow wire key on pwr ,crank it goes dead bottom right two white wires key on pwr, cranking has pwr second pic on the right top wire is black or blue key on pwr crank pwr goes to coil bottom wire key on pwr, crank goes dead. Do I just wire into the 1211 harnnes using blade connectors and hook it up like my 1200? And forget about the orange wire?Looks like it would work just fine. Was funny had an engine block on the seat to get it to crank mode and brake locked down!

Sorry, I don't know what I'm looking at. What are the two connectors you pictured for?
It should be pretty easy to figure out. Get the '82 series diagram here... 82 Series wiring diagram Get the 1211 chassis service manual here..... Chassis Manual The wiring diagram is on page 2-55 Print them both out, and go from there. |

The left picture is of the main harness connector that goes to the engine on the 1211 the right is of my 1200 with a k301,which is the same engine that I am putting into my 1211. I have the diagrams saved on my pc,will give the links you posted a look, sorry to be confusing and long winded!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
