Default New to me 1204

Picked up a 1204 today for the staggering price of $85. Not sure what to do with it. The carb, a carter model n is junk. Any ideas where to get a new carb for it? What will work? I put a carburetor from a k341 i had and got it running and it is in need of a rebuild ASAP. Burned a ton of oil but I still got the yard mowed with it.

What do you guys think, part it out? rebuild it? I got a 1650 that i'm waiting on some parts for, once it's up and running, I might tackle the 1204. I'm planning on getting a zero turn for mowing, but I need at least one tractor for general use, plowing, tilling, etc. Keep the 1650 or the 1204?

Congrats on the 1204!
Keep the 1650. The 1204 has the peerless transaxle in it and plowing and tilling is better suited for the 1650!

Keep the seat and put it on the 1650

Suppose it's worth finding a new carb for the 1204 or just part it out?

Find a older model with gear drive and change it over to a cast iron rear. It's easy to come by the older models with cast rear and straight drive that is to far gone to restore albeit people seem to think more and more of scrap cub cadets now online etc

Congrats on the 1204, but I'd also keep the 1650.

Yeah thats what I decided also, keep the 1650. I posted the 1204 on CL for sale or trade. Anybody order from Brian Millers pulling before? I did a couple of weeks ago, and still waiting. They said they were waiting for some gaskets to come in, but seems like a long wait to me. I think if they haven't shipped tomorrow I'm gonna cancel my order.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
