New hood hinge
After receiving my grandfather's 129 I noticed the hood hinge was barely hanging on. After a brief internet search I found one for @ $10 plus shipping. Got it in the mail today and installed it tonight.
I was able to remove the hood and lay it on the ground without disconnecting the headlights. The old hinge practically fell apart as I was taking it off. I installed the new one to the hood first. Then lifted it up and held it in place while I put the bolts in the top of the grill. I did notice that it must have been that way for some time. The hood has grooves where it rubbed on the grill. Probably won't be able to fix it that, but at least it is not loose and rubbing anymore. Now it no longer vibrates and the gap at the console is perfect. Just need to get new rubber at the console since that is worn too. Here are some pics:

Wow....$10 isn't bad at all. For that price, no one should have damage from not fixing their hinge! Glad you made that big improvement!
