From what I have seen the engine mounts are far more robust on john deere than cub cadets I have not seen any bad, but I'm sure they are plenty. I have a 317, 318 and like them....The 317 came to me with a cub cadet KT 17 series 2 the previous owner had rigged up a tractor draw bar, and a tractor quick hitch on rear ran hydraulics to a big lift cylinder way way to heavy duty, loaded it down with lots of weight cleared land with front blade, nice ag duals also.... I was surprised it didn't tear something up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
