Now that I have this blower and cab repainted it makes my tractor look bad. Maybe next year I will repaint it. I've smelled enough paint fumes for one season.

Great looking set up!! For safety, you may want some lights on the back of your cub or cab so that you are easily identified if you plow anything in or across the roadway. The paint really made a big difference in the way that it looks--sweet job!

You did a great job. You'll enjoy that cab when it's cold and blowing! Don't really need heat. Just the cab is a full layer of clothes you don't have to wear!
The metal cabs tend to channel and amplify noise from the machine as well as drumming from the road. Get some hearing protectors. Also in mine the windshield likes to ice up. So I installed a little 12v fan from Big Lots. It's like the ones folks use in their cubicals at work. It works like a charm to keep the window clear. I also like the idea I'm circulating air inside the cab. Can't be too careful with exhaust fumes. I installed reflectors on my cab and they work well. if I was on a main road I would add an amber beacon on the roof. Some pics that might give you some ideas. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=7382 http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=15501 I have some WR Grace ice dam guard for roofing left over from a project. It's a tar like film with plastic on it. I've heard of some folks using it like Dynamat to dampen panel drumming. I think I'm going to try to put some of that in my cab this winter and see how it works. Should take some of the loudness out of the flat metal. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
