an rear axle seal for my O? I have checked our sponsors and didn't have any luck. Would a parts store have the part if I took in the part no.? Pulled the brake assembly apart to check for brake band wear, and all is in good shape but noticed the seal was leaking some so I want to replace it.

If the seal has a part no. on it you should be able to use that. If not, measure the ID, OD, and thickness and get one by size. Any parts store should be able to do that. If not, a bearing and seal company can. Places like; Coldwell Bearing, Motion Industries, Bearings Inc.

I just ordered rear seals and brass axle bushing for my O a couple days ago. I haven't received them yet, but the guy on the phone sounded confident he had exactly what I needed and I thought the prices were very reasonable. $8.00 for the bushings and $2.00 per seal.
Here's the website where I found them. http://************************.com/a1trans.htm Edit: I guess I can't post a link. Just google "A-1 Miller's Performance Enterprises" then click the link for "Transmission, Transaxle Parts, Rebuilds and Machine Shop Services" |

I went to the dealer. no luck, no longer carry them. Went a couple other car places, no luck either. One said he might be able to order them. Then I checked out an industrial place that does hydraulic hoses and such.. had then on the shelf.. $7.
Good to go...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
