My wife no longer calls it a shop, just a enclosed junk yard. Every once in a while she gets out the pictures of when we first built it and asks, "Do you remember this ?" I just remind her of my right to remain silent.

Your not alone Jonathan, I cleaned mine garage a couple weeks ago put things away swept up real good and it looks like a disaster area again now. Having limited space is good that it not as big of an are to clean at least. Having two tractors a large moveable work bench and a 4 wheeler in there does make it kinda tight sometimes. Along with all the tools. Think we all know exactly what your talking about! Good luck with your cleaning!

I'm going to put these two comments together. I actually do need a bigger shop.... or at least bigger doors. Can't get a lot of stuff inside that I work on. It's too bad really. There were two big shops in my town. The one I have and one other. The buildings must have been built by the same company, because the construction is almost identical. Anyway, I tried to buy the other one. It is all open construction on the inside and had a bigger door. The guy said he'd sell it to me in a few years and until then, I could rent the smaller building he had next to it. So I did. Well, it became obvious he had no intention to sell it to me, so I pursued this one. My building has been added on to, so it really is two separate shops with a door between. But the floors aren't the same height, so there is a poor ramp between. Plus, no big doors. The other building would have suited my needs much better. Wish I had it. I don't mean to sound crude, but the guy is old, and never sells anything he has. Kinda a hoarder. He has only one daughter and she kinda takes after him. I was hoping when he dies I could buy it, but I don't even know if his daughter will sell. Sucks. The building just sits there full of his junk.

It's the motor parts lying in a pile that I'm in the middle of rebuilding. The tractor that has been in here for years in pieces that a customer and I both lost interest in, and now is just here. A truck stripped down, sanded bondo'd and almost ready to paint that just isn't done yet. All the equipment that had to be moved to get that truck in the shop area it is in, and is now shoved to the side and in the way. Parts and pieces that were saved for "future use" and just need put on a shelf, but the shelf is full.... Sooooo the shelf needs sorted out. Throw the stuff that has been there for years out, and make room for new.

It's that kind of thing. 5000 sq ft of work space and only maybe 1800 free. Gets old. Need to finish up some stuff that has been in here way too long and get it out. Need to ask some customers if they forgot about that thing they were supposed to pick up, or didn't want to finish "just yet". That kind of mess.

Well now that I can relate to.

My wife says "as long as I can park inside I don't care what's in it" (the garage) then gets annoyed when it smells like 1) gas 2) exhaust 3) oil 4) paint.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
