How do I get the pulley (the one with the screen attached) off My O?
I need to replace a pulley on my O 7hp.. The one that runs the drive belt. I have all the fasteners that hold the shroud on removed and the crank shaft nut off. I cannot get the pulley with the screen off for the life of me. It has to come off so I can remove the shroud. The pulley needs replacing also. Anyone have one? The pulley that is. I have it listed in the wanted section.

They have a small pin that goes in the flywheel that usually sticks, typically a few hits with a rubber hammer or something loosens them enough to pull it off.

Just where would this pin be? I have looked at the pulley, down where the nut holds it to the crank and all along the outside of the pulley and I don't see the pin you are talking about. Could it be behind the screen? If so, how would I get to it? Is the pin attached to the flywheel? I have looked at the pulley real close and I am still at a loss.

Is the pin part of the pulley on the back side where it rest up against the flywheel? And locates the pulley?
I have been bopping it with a brass hammer while pulling and I doesn't want to budge.

Got it off. Thanks, you really helped. Now that it's off I can see how it fastens to the flywheel..
Now all I need is to find a replacement. Any Ideas? Thanks John

Check with Chris Westfall, I was able to get a screen and pulley for my 125 from him and it was in great shape. not the same as an original, but he's great to work with.

I have worked with Chris before. I will give him a shout.
Another reason to sometimes take these machines apart. Mud daubers had completely filled up the spaces between the fins on my Kohler. That is some tough mud!
