I think there will be a new policy instituted shortly where serial numbers are recorded upon drop off and pickup of customer equipment.

Not good! I have a way of finding the WORST dealers ever. I can totally understand why folks buy box store mowers. Hopefully you have a better luck with your dealer and I hope so. Worse case, they got great insurance! Maybe this will turn into a new mower.

Good luck,
Bill

tell them to check with the sale department, bet they sold it.

true story here. One of my friends took their Harley to shop for service in a dealer near Vegas. they did the service and then they wash the bikes. now this is a larger deal they have 100's of bikes here. sale man took a guy in the back room to look at a trade in. sold my buddies bike. he got it back luckly but still it happens. bad management, poor paper and salemen who work on commission.

I am betting they sold it

The wrong customer musta been pretty happy with the mower. If that was the case, gotta love to good, honest people nowadays.......

I, too would be threatening about getting a lawyer involved. Either find my mower or give me a new one, 2014 model that is. How on earth a dealer can loose a customer's mower is beyond me. I would think they would be a "former dealer" for me.

Someone got sticky fingers and toted off with it. I hope for your sake, they find it or make things right. Good luck and keep us posted.

WOW! I'd be ticked too! I wonder if maybe they did sell it? That or somebody stole it! Hope you get it back or a new mower!

When since do you give up the title when you bring a bike in for service? You can't sell something to be licensed without a title, I would think even in Vegas

I wouldn't worry too much..... yet. If it got stolen, that really isn't their fault, and I'm sure they have insurance. If they sold it, I'm sure they will get it back for you. If they lost it, they'll find it.

Yes they can, I traded a car when I bought a new van and they had the car sold and off the lot before they finished servicing my new van. I had not given them the title yet. All they have to do is print out a pink slip. No title needed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
