Yeah, I saw them, I just didn't have time to respond. 3 weeks of class left in the semester, so my life is crazy at the moment.

Anyway...

It looks like you have a deck and carriage from an 82 series. I think that means you have to use the white (longer) hangers. You've got them in the right holes. I'm kinda confused. Do you still have a problem with this setup?

Well the issue is this. It is working as is but what I was after was to be able to set the cut height higher. With the carriage and hangers that are in the floor (not being used) it will lift much higher and the cutting height can be set much higher. That is what I was after. All I can get now is 2.25 inches but I would like to get 3+ inches on a cut height.
When I used the setup that you see in the floor I can't get the deck level, the rear is a half inch higher than the front with no adjustment left anywhere. That is what I was trying to deal with. I can put spacers on the rear latches to level it but haven't had time to mess with it. I don't understand why it shouldn't level out since this appears to me to be the correct carriage and hangers for the 149.

It is the correct carriage and hangers for an 82 series. The 82 series carriage may differ slightly from the WF "A" deck carriage. I've never compared them side-by-side. The rockshaft geometry on the WFs might be a little different. The 82 series rockshaft pivots all the way up into the frame. I can't remember if the WF rockshaft does that or not.

Here's a dumb question...are your tires inflated properly?

The tires are inflated correctly. The WF rockshaft does pivot to the frame. Well it's no big deal, I've been cutting at this height for a several years now but it would be nice to cut at 3". I'll mess with it when I get some time, I can figure out something to fix it, even if I have to make a set of hangers or make a spacer for the rear latch. Thanks for looking at it though.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
