It looks like I'm here, now. It's all Cubby123's fault. I checked the site out as a guest, saw that Cubby123 is from Maine and since 123's are one of my favorite subjects I had to register to "check him out". Being registered in two other forums I hadn't really planned to sign up in another one, but I'm recognizing names from the other 2. I'll lurk, try to help when I can, and try this:

Thanks for the welcome. One's enough. I'm not here to take up bandwidth. I have learned a little about these miserable-wonderful-exasperating-useful-useless-machines (kids) over the past several years and am here to help if I can.

I'll take that as a dare:
Picture 038.jpg Picture 039.jpg Picture 040.jpg Picture 041.jpg I'll be darned! This is Yorkie, who came in here from New York a little over a year ago. Her steering box was broken (bottom completely gone) and I wonder if it was because water came in through the steering column and froze. I've re-done the steering (taper pin spindle repair, etc.), added rear ags and wheel weights, front tri-ribs and tubes, new seat and an 1811 steering wheel to help acommodate my long-leggedness, added a brinly style hitch to the existing hydraulic system, just finished de-carboning the head and top of the engine, new head gasket, added headlights and switch, bought a used wiring harness and made a good one out of what I had and what I bought. Used her as a little skidder quite a bit last summer to twitch in smallish campfire wood. She uses oil, so I'm going to pull the engine in the near future and replace it with a spare I have here from a parts 125 that came in with a decent black replacement engine. Future pics will be bigger!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
