I'm a new home owner, newly wed and about to be a father. I was supposed to buy a Cub Cadet next correct?

I grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Vinton County, the place where I had my first experience with a cub cadet. Grandpa had what had to have been a 127 or the likes. We mowed The Christmas tree fields with that thing day in and day out. It was replaced in 1999 with a Kubota that was more suited to the chores of heavy mowing. We also had / have a Cadet 111 that has not been in use for 10 years that sits beside a barn under a pine tree.

I live in Lancaster now and married into an Apple Orchard family. So once again I find myself spending countless hours mowing rows of tree's. Now a days the tractors are bigger faster and have air conditioning.

Check out the new Cub over here . http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...201#post259201

Welcome Cougarse.

Not many people know where Vinton county is. I grew up in Albany and had a good friend in cross country running from Vinton (and my dad worked the mines in VC, although we lived in Albany).

Years later my mom moved up to Lancaster off Coon Path road.

I had to send a note to say hello, and welcome! I wonder if anyone here has tried to put A/C on an old Cub.....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
