Well, I'm glad the 71 went to a good home. Scott is a pretty good fellow! I don't believe I could have gotten any better deal from anyone. I was quite impressed with that day's events!
I don't believe I'd ever part with the 1450. Now, I'm having serious thoughts about passing along my 72 if it were possible,.... just run the 1450, and collect parts, and implements for it. All I can say, is that I saved a 1250 from the crusher not knowing what I would ever do with it. Now, nine months later, a ql shows up which is to my amazement that I have all the needed parts for the 1450 to make it like new. I have gone distance, meant and done business with quite a lot of enthusiast here and across the street. I believe I traveled about 6-7 hundred miles round trip for a IH # 1 tiller. I plan on keeping it that way! |

Only one Cub I bought was a long ways away for me...my 73 I bought in January. Went 2 hours 15 minutes one way to get it, and it was out of state. Otherwise my drives are usually an hour max. The 73 was the only Cub I have ever went out of state for out of the many I have owned.

Drove 4 or so hours for a cub in Buffalo NY. Went 6 hours to Lew's for a lawn sweeper! Both my sweepers came from way out east my red one came from Ray. But I only had to drive to Pittsburgh to pick it up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
