Default New to OCC in Tennessee

Hello all
I am new to occ. It seems my son and I aquired the "fever" when our neighbor sat an old cub 102 out in his yard for sale. My son said it would be cool to fix it up and mow with it. Long story short he bought it, I bought a pretty nice 100 and it's proving to be a rewarding hobby. (His needs a LOT of work) . This is a really helpful site with a lot of knowledgable collectors. We have since purchased another 102 together, that may make a nice winter project. Anyway just wanted to properly introduce myself and say HEY

Welcome, Tinkerman. This is THE PLACE for all things Cub Cadet, from the IH Orininal Model through the current MTD made machines.

Put on the coffee, pull up a chair and stay awhile.

Cubby Guy.

P.S. I bleed CC Yellow and Farmall Red.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
