Why's it going for parts? Doesn't look in too bad of shape

Either way, nice Cub!

I went to look at it because the ad claimed it had a rear PTO and only 345 hrs.
It did not have the rear PTO and then I was told the hr meter was not working when the person I bought it from got it

It does run good no smoke or knocks so I dragged it home, came with a ok 50" deck

Pix is of the good side ...pretty beat up for only 345 hrs.???
fenders are dented and cracked
wire harness is cut up
dash is broken
front end is all sloppy
hydo / rearend is in unknown condition looks like a mix of ATF and water
tractor will not move under it's own power

I'm thinking I may check out the motor better and freshen it up for my other 1872 ...cause I've been eyeballing a 1572 I'd rather get and restore

I am looking for a rear for my 1772. I just need the center section but would take a complete rear.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
