If the red & white is growing on you, then what's the debate? Besides, you could always get a 2nd and go yellow and white!

BTW, I voted for red & white.

I like red and white, but it needs more white than the hood to look good...

I kinda like it the way it is, it hearkens back to the purpose: corrosion prevention. Looks like it was used as a tool, as it was meant for. Not many things have the feel of a well-worn, fully serviceable tool.

I voted yellow, but that's only because this wasn't an option...

If it's gonna be a custom color, may as well get way cool.

Originally the Cub Cadet { later became known as the Original } should have been red. This color would not be seen until the last IH production models, which were the spread frame 82 Series garden tractors. I like both colors ! There is a very nice Original restoration done in the Farmall red from an OCC member,...just can't think from who.....

Allen would say keep it in original work clothes too, yes, the hood does look well matched with age, !

I read a history book on ih cub cadets. It said that the originals were going to be painted ih red and federal yellow. This was going to be the choice of the customer, but was later rejected for cost and practicality purposes

I like red with white hood, seat, and fenders.

Then chrome the exhaust stack, grill, air cleaner, and maybe the wheels too.

A wood grain steering wheel would also add a nice touch of class.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
