Well I just got finished. I installed new points first and set them to .20 I then static timed using the instructions posted. My only problem was when I hooked up the test light, no matter what, points open or closed, the light was on. My first thought was condensor. I replaced the condensor, I was going to replace it anyway, and the test light worked as the instructions described. Static timing definatly set the points different than if I set them at what I thought was .20. After getting the points cover and new gasket on I replaced the spark plug wire. I warmed it up and took it for a short ride. No miss as of this time. If I had to guess I would say the condensor was the problem. I will take it for another ride after I get things cleaned up. See what happens, mabe we are all fixed. Thank you for all your help and your time. My daughter has the landscape trailer ready to connect to the tractor for her evening drive with the dog in the trailer, I got it back together just in time. Thanks again!
