Default Original Carb issues

So just picked up an original today. She is serial number 18965. It is not running as the throttle shaft is broken in half. Anyone have any recommendations on where to find another shaft?

Also are there any manuals available for the originals and the K-161?

Thanks,
Ryan

BTW here is a pic of her when I got home today:

Take some time and check out the tech library, all the manuals are there.

Ok, found the tech section and the manuals. Thanks for the help there. Now onto the carb. From my research I have a carter model N #20. Where is the best place to find a throttle shaft and rebuild kit for the carb?

Thanks,
Ryan

Rebuild kits can be bought from CCC, Kohler, and most any parts store. Stens, Prime Line, are both aftermarket small engine parts companies that most all auto parts stores have access to.

Same goes for the throttle shaft.
Keep digging in the tech library. Here is a good link:

There is a link on how to rebuild a carb in there also. Make sure to look at the Tech Tips section. Lots of good info in there also!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
