Guys
I'm trying one of those absorbed glass matt sealed batteries. Got it at O'Reilly's. It's a bit pricy at $78.98 but I'm tired of the corrosion caused by acid. It spun the CH22 over with no problems. O'Reilly part number is SSB ETX16. Next on the replacement list is my 1782, I figure if it will spin the diesel all the others are a piece of cake. I'll keep you updated.

I have done some research with AGM batteries in the past. One thing that was a caution, is to not overcharge. Never leave it on the charger. (unless you have an AGM charger)

It's on the maintainer at the moment. I've use similar batteries in my race car in the past and have had good luck with them. John I think I can get a better deal on them but the guy that usually cuts me killer deals at O'Rielly's wasn't in today. Yep more $$$ than the regular stuff but I've repaired enough rotted battery boxes and dash towers. The O will be getting one also.

I assume "maintaine"r is an electronically controlled charger. It probably has a high voltage limit. Most cheap chargers can go as high as 15-16 volts. I read that for AGM the max is 14.7 volts. Might be worth checking with a voltmeter. Just my

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
