Right, on the sidewalks comment, I had a 54" on the 1650, tore the heck out of the grass on either side of the "sidewalk" even when angled. I understand the concept of getting the wide plow through the gate but there is little room to maneuver and a narrower blade would make things much easier, bigger isn't always better.

With a little fabrication, you could put a 42" blade on a SGT. It really wouldn't take much if you have a welder.

This is kinda a silly question.... but why do you have a big ol super? Got a big property or something? Cause it kinda looks like you live in town. Point I'm getting at is, 1: do you need that big of a machine and 2: why not just get a GT to compliment the super. I guess I'm just wondering why if you have such a small gate, and walks, why you are trying to use such a large machine. Because, if you can't get a 54" blade through the gate, how would you get a 60" Haban deck through it? Just wondering.......

Seems like a GT would better fit the bill....

Hey, go check out your snowblower thread too. Something just hit me about it a few min ago.

Your absolutely right, I don't need a super, but I wanted one and it was a deal! The super is set up primarily to be a snow removal machine for my long blacktop driveway, several hundred feet of sidewalks and walks of a bunch of friends in the neighborhood. I don't have to go through the gate for with the 60" mower only to get to the driveway with the blower. Since I have got the blower squared away I will probably pass on the blade for now. The Haban deck is overkill too for the lawn and I am on the look out for a smaller cub cadet for grass duty but the power steering of the super has me spoiled. I also doubt that I will find anything as durable as the 60" Haban deck, it's bulletproof.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
