Nice man. Glad it's working out. That was a good buy and glad you posted it. I might think about mounting this to the front of my cub to mess around and maybe lift my plow blade.

I have a new one sitting one the shelf waiting, too bad my 2 year warranty has run out. I've heard those remotes burn out quickly then you have to make your own switch. The other day a friend used a bigger HF winch to pull a dead chevy 4x4 onto a trailor. He'd been waiting for a sale on the winch.($279 i think) It pulled that heavy truck right up, only trouble was the cable didn't wind up straight and bound a couple times. That cable looked like 3/8", plenty of power may need some reengineering. Mike

My son mounted one of them on the back of the 1864 and was really surprised at the pulling force it has. I think he said it lined up with the holes already in the back plate. My second one will go on my trailer like Sam's.

Wow that mounted on just fine indeed! I have no experience with QL's but would that rear plate fit on a 108 WF? I would think so right? If the winch mounted right on then it would save me from figuring out something else

So how well do these handle up to the weather? I realize that I shouldn't just leave this thing out in the rain or covered in snow. But heck, I wouldn't ever do that to my cub anyway HAHA. Still, these are made to be used outside so how durable are they to the elements? I might play around using one to lift my plow and wanted to know if using it in the winter is a bad idea? It's going to get snow on it no mater what I do and just not sure if it will handle this. For $60 you can only expect so much.

I've also used these little winch's for a rear lift on a couple tractors. 1st one I did was my 121 that I use to plow with. Beats lifting the plow the hard way. The other was on a 1572.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
