1250 Air intake??
This might be in the wrong spot, sorry if it is.. I was wondering about the rubber hose on the 1250. I sits behind the air filter cover... Is this like a forced air kinda thing??? does this really serve much of a purpose?? I do know that a lot of air comes out.. Just a question!!

If your talking about #8 in this pic it forces cooler air into the filter housing from the blower.

Actually..... its a pre cleaner. Sucks air through the rotary screen on the flywheel which actually "spins" the dirt out of the air via centrifugal force. Then the excess air "purges" the air filter box keeping grass and dirt from building up. Similar systems on combines. It does give it cooler air too, but it's for dirt.

Okay, thank you much. #8 is what I was talking about.. Does this affect HP at all, or just a dirt filter?

No HP effect. Perhaps a little better economy because of the cold air, but not noticeable. Cleaner air is the main deal.
NOTE: If you are missing that tube, you need to at least cap the hole. Lots of air comes out of it and consequently can't blow across your engine for cooling if it is open with no tube.
