These tillers can be found for reasonable prices.

That is a nice set-up, but I think the JD tiller would be easier to convert to a real tractor, like a Cub. LOL

The JD uses a pump that mounts under the tractor and has a belt that runs to the PTO. The oil tank is on the tiller. It holds 4.5 gallons from what I've read. I was just going to weld the mounts on the tiller and mount it on the 3pt.

plus you do have to remember that the case's, although perhaps arguably the most hydraulically capable tractors (oem) they also have their own oil cooler..so to run a case implement on another type would be an issue.. i think you would need to put some sort of cooler on it, or available on the tractor...even an old intercooler with a fan blowing across it would probably work...

Here is the cat 0 hydraulic Cub tiller. It is a model 190-004-100. I hear that they work awesome, will fit your cat 0 hitch and you can run the tines forward or reverse by the lever on the unit mounted spool valve(or whatever that handle do-hickey is). These are for the 3000 series tractors and use a shaft to turn the mid mount pump but you could mount the pump up under the front pto and use a short belt. I just missed one up in eastern Pa for $500. They hold 4 or 5 gallons of oil and it looks like they use the tiller shell as a heatsink.

I was looking hard for one of those until I found my 982(6) donor with all the goodies except PS....

They are hard to find but would do the trick if all you have is a sleeve or 3pt hitch.

All self contained tiller....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
