I am only 14 but have been buying tools when I was 5. That is nine years. I have some of my grandpas craftsmans and they work great still. I have about 2000 dollars worth of tools ranging from Milwaukee to craftsman to blue point to Pittsburgh. Also, craftsman is now made in China, but so are some snapon products.

And pics of random stuff that you "work" on doesn't mean you know tools.

Jonathan, Quit debating tools and get busy using them to get the 1872 pictured done! Just in jest, 'cause we both know whose tractor that is.
Better get your snow machines ready too. Tim

Found this set. They are made by Lang, Lang purchased Kastar and as I said earlier Kastar was said to make the ones for Snap-On.
Are they as good as Snap-On maybe, A reviewer on Amazon said Quote:
$72 and good reviews. But they still look stamped to me.

Those do look like a good deal and a good tool. Problem would be getting them replaced when they break. I have broken Snap Ons before.

Dude....this is not a fight that can be won, nor is there any point to winning it. Just sayin'. Ease up on the stick and level out. I have a pair of Channel-Lock snap-ring pliers myself, are they Snap-On quality? No. Would I like a Snap-on? Yes. Will I buy one? No. Do I use my tools for my livelihood? No. Is Craftsman good enough for guys like me? Yes. Would Snap-On be better? Yes. Would I tell the difference? Probably. Do I care? No. I'm hungry. I thought there was popcorn here. |

Kudos Ryan!!!! ![]() Everyone has different knowledge levels depending on what they do and how old they are. My oldest brother is a mechanic with thirty years of experience and prolly has spent north of $40,000 on tools over the years. Snap-on. Not my cup of tea, but it works for him. CubCadet129, use/buy what works for you. Good to have the younger generation in our hobby. Hopefully every teen that joins here doesn't get run off. Hope everyone else feels better for raking a 14 year old over the coals. I think he did pretty darn good standing up for himself. ![]() Now what was the original topic before is derailed and blew up?

Here's the deal we all get that your what 14-15 years old. PLEASE don't take this the wrong way because young guys like you are the future of this country, the gang bangers, drugies and the rest of the useless crap that the school systems are turning out will never be able to deal with running this country. Guys like me will be long gone, it's going to be up to people of your generation to deal with the real world. We old farts are not your enemy, we are here to teach you as our elders taught us. Yeah at your age we knew it all until we figured out we knew nothing. I made some comments in this thread http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...t=36972&page=2 #22 that you may also want to read.

![]() Point is, you probably do have more experience and tools than 90% of the kids today do at your age. You could probably out wrench them even on your worst of days! But guess what; people like John, Sam, and many many others have the same "tool history" you do but also have an additional 10, 20, 30+ years on you. That means they have more experience, more knowledge, and have probably gone through more tools than you have ever owned figuring out what's good and what's not. Nobody is trying to insult you. Like Sam said, we're here to help ![]() Quote:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
