Oh no, don't get me wrong. I don't mind the seat time on the 129. It allows me to spend less time mowing the yard than my 22" cut Toro walk-behind does. But, when it comes down to it all, for me, cutting my lawn is a waste of time. No wonder my veggie garden seems to get bigger every few years.

Just my taste I suppose. I'd rather be working up firewood, toiling in the veggie garden, etc, than mowing grass.

Cheers.

Oh where to begin! I'd call this maintenance/project work but knowing me, it'll happen in spring so I think that counts!

1864 - Remove cab, remove fenders, and paint/coat the underside in truck bed liner to add protection since this will be the tractor most exposed to the elements year round. Then I plan on putting some sound deadening material in the cab and then on top of that, the "carpet" material used in the big boy tractors. I'd also like to put some sound deadening between the engine/trans and the drivers seat so it's a lot quieter and nicer to be in next winter. I also need to do some better weather stripping where the cab meets the hood/front of the tractor to eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) any wind that made it in this year. I also plan on coating the foot rests in the truck bed liner to add texture and protection to them, as well.

2284 - This will be the year of addon's, and not tractor buying/selling/swapping! I want to put some money into the machines I have instead of having a different machine every week (well, unless a REALLY good deal comes along ) I plan to get some AG tires on the rear, some ribbed tires up front, and add an Xtreme 3pt to the rear. At that point, the budget should be about tapped out.

Like I stated in another thread..... I cut enough fire wood to suit me for a lifetime!! I'll do anything.... ANYTHING not to cut wood. I don't mind bucking, but splitting sucks.

Give me grass!!!!

I'm the same way. Absolutely hate cutting grass. I do it maybe once a month. Lol I'll split wood all day long....splitter or maul/axe. Its relaxing IMO to do firewood... Weird right?

As I read the thread, there is a lot of hydro pump gasket replacements going on! I for one, will be doing just that, very, very soon! Also changing the Hy-Tran and Cub Cadet trans filter on my 1450!

I can't wait to start working on cubs again, as soon as I get my driveshaft from Jeff it will be go time. I also got a cub 86 I need to go pick up so I can get it going and see what it needs, I'd really like to have it ready for some shows this summer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
