Read post #2 in this thread.
Hy-Tran is what Cub recommends.

This is turning into yet another what is the best oil to use thread, we only have about 1 of these per month. For what it's worth pretty much any hydraulic oil will be just fine.

Change the filter also. just my non professional opinion but I recommend the Cub filter or a Wix 51410 or a NAPA 1410 (NAPA filter is made by Wix)

Happy motoring.

Now get off the computer and go fix your tractor.

Ok I'll confess our 2072 rear has the TSC stuff too. It seems to be working very well. That thing goes uphill keeping its speed much better than my 2084 or Eric's 2086 both of which have Hytran up their butt ends.

I use Mystik JT-5 which meets specifications for the Sundstrand transmission. No issues. ~$36/2 gallons @ TSC.

Whatever's in the 2182 I'm sure it's AOK!

Just one question 'bout the 2182. Did they come with the rubber foot rest pads or not?

The boys 'n I are lovin' this Cub. I see more Cubbies in our future. The grandsons noted today, "We can pick up another Cub and paint it pink for Mom-Mom."

We will pick up another, need the barn shop busy, but pink? No way Jose!

I just thought I would add that with "whatever brand" UTF there are usually 2 grades of fluid. The ones that are $20-30 /5 gal bucket are often a 20W fluid. The "premium" grade is a 10W, more suited for cold weather operation. If you use it when it is really cold I would strongly suggest the "premium" fluid. It will say in fine print " for cold weather"

Note: I am just sharing a lesson I learned when I put 12 gallons in the JD. It it's fine, since I don't use it much in the winter, but the few times I have it whines like hell and is really slow until it warms up. No issues at all above 40.

Yep they came with the rubber pads. I need to do some paint work before I put them back on this one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
