My oldest son is 4 and started school at the headstart this year and it seems like he brings home a new cold every week, Ive never been sick as much in my life as I've been over the past 5 months. Worst part is that about 3 years ago my body started reacting to colds very poorly, now when I get sick I feel like I'm drunk and on the edge of throwing up. I can't stand for more than a few minutes without getting dizzy and I cant do anything even remotely strenuous without feeling dizzy, yesterday was the first day of work I've missed in about 5 years. I would have went and toughed it out but I'm no good to anybody when I'm like this and the last thing I need is for someone to get hurt because my heads not working the way it should.

It don't get any better as they are in school. Every thing that goes around your kids are susceptible to, they can bring home.

Gotta love it, rather than keeping sick kids at home the parents send the little germ bombs to school so everyone can share.

Your kid may be bringing home the bugs as quickly as some people bring home Cub Cadets but me thinks there are ways to combat the problem. Perhaps you could start looking good hygiene such as washing hands more often and using sanitizers. Even shooting up the house with disinfectant like Lysol. Perhaps you could look into bolstering your immune system by eating better and taking vitamins. I don't think being sick has to be that way. The same could be taught to your child and family.

Keeping yourself and children in some sort of sterile environment only leaves you more susceptible to catching common, mild forms of colds etc. You over protect against germs and your immune system does not get the chance to build antibodies against the weakess virus/bug. |

It gets better as they get older, I have drilled into them that handwashing thing, Kindergarten teachers preach hand sanitizer("hanitizer", as mine called it). This year only a coupla coughs no bad sickness, no school missed. First year in school my boy brought home the flu on a Thurs, I had it Fri, my girl had it Sat and the wife got it on Sunday. We were miserable for days.

I spent most of my February being ill and missed on average 2 days a week. I, too, have never been sick like I have this year. I think it is the strain of viruses that is going around, because normally I am on my feet and not phased by what is going around, but certainly not this year. It sounds like you have had a similar experience.
Recently, it steams my clams whenever I see a co-worker "tough it out" when they are sick and show up to work because I seem to be getting it because of that mentality of "I have to show up to work". A couple of weeks ago, I spoke with an old classmate of mine and she said that she worked for BASF and the company requires (mandatory) them to take off 2 days (paid) if they are ill. There was several other things she mentioned about that company (positive perks) and I asked what the turnover rate was for them. She said hardly any. Imagine that, a company that treats its workers right and the workers wanting to stay at that company for employment.......what a novel idea! Well, I tried my Dr. Jack remedy and that didn't even work when I was ill, so hang in there, I know what it is like. Here's to your good health and to all of our good health.... ![]() Cub Cadet 123

Sorry to hear you've been sick! I know there's been some bad bugs going around this year. Me and the wife have had colds and bronchitis an sinus infections. She's just getting over another cold and bronchitis now. I will be praying for your speedy recovery and hopefully last cold for awhile!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
