Default Another new guy from New York

Greetings bredren - just a quick note introducing myself. I am on Long Isalnd, New York, and just got my first (of several) Cub Cadets. It is a Model 124, which is a bit rusty, but all there, and solid running. I got it just to push the snow off my 40x100 postage stamp sized piece of property. When you subtract the footprint of the house, garage, and fish pond, there ain't much snow to plow, but I am still not deterred. I grabbed a QA-36 snow thrower, and a dozer/snow blade. I don't want to have to mess around in the freezing weather, changing out implements between the thrower and plow blade, depending on the amount of snow. Therefore I am getting another tractor, a 125. The hydrostatic drive will be used with the QA-36, so I can keep the blower really spinning, while going real slow. The blade will stay on the 124, which I will push hard to get the piles moved.
I do need a few bits and pieces, the request for assistance with which will be the topic of future posts. I learned a lot in the past month reading posts, and I really appreciate this valuable resource being available for those with interest in these machines.
Carry on.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
