Fuel/ carb problem ?
Hello:
My 2012 LT1050 Cub Cadet tractor was running fine until the end of last season. I left it sit in my other garage for a couple weeks when it started getting cold. When I tried starting the tractor, it was pouring gas out of the muffler and was totally flooded. I drained all the oil out of it and bought all new stuff, plugs, oil & filter etc. My question is, should I pull the carburetor apart and check the needle/seat and give it a good cleaning? Or could the fuel shutoff solenoid have stuck and let to much gas in and flooded the engine? I appreciate any replies. thanks Randy

To add to that very good advice, generally the solenoid is to shut off fuel through the main jet, so as to stop "run-on/backfiring in the muffler and lower emissions, when engine is shut off.
It does not shut off fuel from the tank to carburetor.
