I read on another forum that there was a tool to make the ends you are talking about...let me see if I can find that.

What do you guys think about silver soldering a small round washer onto the proper size brake tubing to make the fitting?

i attempted this the tube is very thick my flare tool strugles with the stuff you buy in a auto parts store and this stuff is quite a bit thicker

group44 ican think of three options 1. tap to 9/16 18 and use ORB fittings 2. tig or braze a fitting to your line 3. use a compression fitting ( my brother has used them on two tractors with no problems yet )
i think the brazing thing is the way to go as the lines will be allready pointing the rite way

Yeah the auto parts store Chinese flare tool won't work. I have one for doing 45 flares in stainless lines for my GT2 race car. I also flared a bunch of hard lines for the oil and cooling systems. Again, all stainless. I think I got it at Pegasus Racing supplies. Not cheap but it has paid for itself a few times.

I think this is the tool you are talking about. It's a bit pricey but I may bite the bullet since it will do just about every flare you can imagine. The particular flare that closely resembles the CC style is for GM push on fuel line connections. I am in the process of trying a repair line I found in the help section of Advance Auto to see if it will work in the valve.

Does it give you a big enough edge for the clamp to hold securely? I have a piece of GM fuel line with that type of flare and it doesn't seem as wide as the CC fitting, real close though.

If it won't make the flange large enough, I bet a die set could be modified so it makes the correct end. I thought about doing that with my Mastercool flaring tool, but after you make the fitting you'll still need to make a bend tight enough to fit under the side panel. That might be the hard part unless someone has found a tight radius bender that I haven't found yet.
