I re-powered my new to me 2082, which had a mag 20 in it, with a CH18 from a 1864. The CH has a larger diameter PTO pulley than the mag 20 did. Here's the dilemma, the 50c that came with the super, the mule drive is pretty bad off. I have a 48GT deck from a 1440. I'm pretty sure its part number 317-190-100. Although the numbers on it are 317190, the deck and mule are in great shape but the belt isn't going to fit. Partstree says this deck will fit my 2082 and use a 5/8 x 92 belt but that's with the smaller pulley. It says it will fit all these tractors:
Cub Cadet 1641 S/N 821,060 - 880,000 Cub Cadet 1641 S/N 880,001 - 899,000 Cub Cadet 1782 S/N 821,060 - 889,000 Cub Cadet 1861 S/N 821,060 - 836,000 Cub Cadet 1862 S/N 821,060 - 836,000 Cub Cadet 1863 S/N 836,001 - 880,000 Cub Cadet 1863 S/N 880,001 - 899,000 Cub Cadet 1864 S/N 836,001 - 880,000 Cub Cadet 1864 S/N 880,001 - 899,000 Cub Cadet 2082 S/N 821,060 - 836,000 Cub Cadet 2084 S/N 836,000 - 864,500 Cub Cadet 2086 S/N 880,001 - 899,000 Cub Cadet 2182 S/N 821,060 - 880,000 Cub Cadet 2284 S/N 864,501 - 899,000 Does anyone know did all these tractors have the smaller PTO pulley or were that small and big? On the look-up Partstree, says look at mower adapter 322 or 323, and then for use with the super garden tractor use 954-3001. I believe is a 5/8 x 92. How much difference is there in belt length between the 2 pulleys?

ok im guessing that the later model 2082 had the large dia. pulley as it calls for a 451 blower and my early model calls for a 450 blower but now has the larger pulley.i mounted up the deck and i had to move the hanger from the front hole to the rear hole on the mule drive to make the rear piece fit onto the brake shaft a B90 belt would fit if it was still in the front hole on the mule. they are 2 inches forward which would make me think the belt should be 4 inches longer? partstree calls out either a 5/8 x 92 or 5/8 x 96.5 any ideas?

Well I think what you have created is basically a 2084. So it looks like you need a 190-322-100 mower adapter with a 754-3047 BELT-V B SEC X95.3. If you have a TSC close by I'd do the old wrap a rope around the pulleys and go see what looks like it will play. The people at TSC love me, I'll buy what looks close and a couple smaller and a couple larger, find out what fits and return the others.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
