Default 2182 Shoulder Bolt 938-3001 alternative

Been looking around for a couple replacement shoulder bolts for the FIL's 2182 and it seems these are obsolete?

My search didn't reveal any new info so......

Any suggestions for a replacement before I head to our old fashioned wood floor local hardware store to look for a couple bolts that match?

Thanks for the link and the quick reply.

I would have replied back sooner, but I wacked my head on the desk edge when I fell off the chair viewing the $17 each price !!!

Yowsa....those things are precious....i may make a run to the hardware store anyway just to see if there may be a more economical alternative.

Got plenty of used ones here, but put an ad in the wanted section and I am sure you will find plenty in your area.

Got a friend with a lathe? Make some bushings to slide over regular bolts. Probably have to leave a large head/should on them since the bolt head would be smaller. If your bolts are worn you could also weld them up and turn them back down.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
