Has anyone ever put a oil cooler on their Magnums or Commands? As hot as these engines get I think that would help dissipate some of the heat.

I have not personally done it but have looked in to it. Kohler sells a kit to add an oil cooler to the Commands. Below is a link to one of the many online sales of the kit as well as a link to another site that has pictures of someone who installed that kit. Hope this helps!

My wonder with the oil cooler kit from Kohler is can you increase the hose length between the plate and radiator so you could locate it somewhere else without adversely affecting oil flow/pressure? I'd rather have it up front or even located somewhere under the tunnel cover with an electric fan blowing across it than mounted on the shroud. The reason being is where is that additional hot air going to blow to? Back in the engine compartment so that almost seems counterproductive. Just my
for what it's worth. Either way, I like the idea of adding an oil cooler. Just gotta get someone to measure some engine temps over a few weeks then install the kit and compare before and after to see if it actually makes a difference.

You would get some cooling just from the extra oil capacity the cooler gives you.

My Massey Ferguson (LegacyXL) has the oil cooler made from short sections of hose and the small rad that mounts right over a hole in the cooling shroud. A lot of air is forced through, seems to work well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
