Default Slick enough to cut grass with?

Just got to spend a little tlc time on the 125 deck. Onmi MAE . Does this look shiny enough to cut grass with? I am pretty satisfied for a sprayed outdoors overcast job.

Default deck was pretty rough.

I really should have posted the before pics first but have a look. I believe I had 4 or 5 holes in this deck, I cut out the holes and welded in new steel. I had stripped it to bare metal last fall and had it in primer ready to paint. I had moved it to the back storage building over winter, but when I pulled it out this spring there were a few places bubbled under the primer so I stripped back down to bare steel and treated it with "must for rust "(phosphoric acid). Guess now time will tell.

Default Thanks guys,

Thank you gentlemen, I can use the encouragement. Turned out pretty good, and then, pushing it into the garage, yep I did, I dropped it!! Uggh, man I get so upset when I work so hard on the darn thing, twice even. Oh well I will touch it up when I get the rest of the white parts prepped for paint.
I started on the deck first because it was the roughest part. Now I need to fiberglass a couple of places on the original seat, and get the hood and dash ready.
The brace on the hood is broken and the PO drilled and put in an angle bracket with a couple of screws, so a little weld and body work required there.
As for the dash, I've got the set screw out for the hydro lever, it wiggles on the shaft, hoping it will come off in my hand one day, yeah like that would happen, but never hurts to be optimistic.
Have a great day, enjoy your family, Give praise to the LORD.

Default Hydro lever

The hydro handle on my 169 did the same thing. I tried several "persuasions", that did not work. So, I took everything loose (Was going to anyway), and was able then to hang the whole thing upside down, with the rod in the vice, and "whang" on the bottom bracket, to pull the rod out of the handle.

Default I believe it was a slight improvement anyway.

A few more before and after. We'll guess I missed that replacement bracket. I had the color mixed in ppg omni from the paint information here on this site. Guess the idler arm will get touched up with the hood and dash. That color should be the IH 902 Interestingly, this one is a 125 '69, but when sitting beside the '78 1450, doesn't seem to be much difference in the white colors. I am not a purist by any means , but I do like for things to look original to the manufacture. Does anyone know or have a printed, ( actual paint chip for these IH colors)/. Just asking because it is so difficult to read true colors from a computer screen.

Oh she got a full cleaning and prep on the underside, then painted with an epoxy paint , although it was just a rattle can. Was wanting to mow with the ole girl but now I am a little reluctant. LOL, She's not gonna be a trailer queen but, Not really thrilled with staining her up just yet either.

Looking good. I agree with your reluctance to git her dirty but then they are not all trailer queens.

Default Maybe reluctance subsides.

Well as nice as it turned out, It may get a good scuff down and repaint, I had the paint mixed to the PPG 90592 number that is supposed to match the IH 902, But after painting it I thought it just looked too white. I went ahead and removed one of the decals from the hood of the 125, and as I expected there is a huge difference. Now know for certain that the paint under the decal is original, OP had at some time painted this tractor with what looks like maybe latex house paint Idk. but the decals were masked off and the paint under them is pristine. I posted in another thread about the color match maybe someone can help.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
