"When I say this guys big, he's BIG. "

Sounds BIG

"He probably knows the most about internationals in Iowa and he's up there on the list of people in the country."

These lists...do they exist? How does one get on the list? Is the list Big? Sounds Big. Must be a Big list. Not huge, but Big.

I'd say it's an IH motor. Your right about the width. Too wide to be a Ford. IH V8's had a real wide V like the old Pontiac V8's.

Justin, do you even know if it's gas or diesel?

I'd say it wasn't as big of a job as you think. Not really all that uncommon of a build. I've seen several.

I know its diesel. If I remember right, he said there was a problem with the flywheel having to be off a bit so it was balanced or something, and I know it had something to do with the starter being on the tractor and not the engine, and he wanted/had to use that starter (the starter uses the flywheel on the tractor, it doesn't even touch the engine). I'll ask him sometime but I know there was a problem with the flywheel and starter and engine, I just don't remember what exactly. He's one of those guys that likes to talk about their stuff a lot so it gets confusing after a bit. But I'll ask him and get back to you on it.

The flywheel is bolted to the motor. Starter is bolted to the bell housing. Inserts from the rear, top center under the fuel tank.

Too much Chrome for me. I like chrome, but not here.

EVERYTING'S bigger in Iowa? You do know what Iowa stands for, right? I'm not sure if I should say this joke because I don't want to offend any of our fine members from the state

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
