I just want to expand a little on what Roland said. None of the Mods take any pleasure on banning a member. We have tried more than you guys will ever know to get these 2 guys to work within the rules of OCC and to act like respectful adults and it just didn't work. It got done to the point of they go or we loose good long term members. They had to go. No one is happy the way this turned out and we hope someday they will get the message. Speaking for myself I like to see young guys get a feel for old iron but we can't let a basically new member turn what is the best Cub forum into some sort of a Face Book page. I'm sure a couple of you that are friends or were friends with these 2 disagree, if you want to discuss it via PM with me feel free. OK I'm done.

Been sitting back thinking hard about this "drama". You all know what? YOU ARE TO BLAME!!! I am not defending the banned individual one bit, but take a look at yourselves. The only reason the "drama" took place was because your chest is all pumped out and your playing keyboard commando. There would be NO "drama" if you kept your mouth shut or did not post at all (to that thread). There are many many many good members here. Some of them, their choice of words or how they word things, is to blame and makes them look bad. All you had to do was read the post, then, not respond. But some of you, your heads are so swelled, your mouth/fingers/brains do not work together. I do not know how many times I have written a post, reread it before posting, deleated it and moved on. The information on this site is to valuable not to be able to ask questions at times, so I usually keep my mouth shut. This time I cannot. I am ashamed and discusted to be a member of this site with some of you. Yes I know everyones personality is different but common, use some common sense. The person that was at the "root of the drama" was supposedly "16". You all let a 16 year old "ruffle your feathers"? You are no better. The questions, ideas, suggestions may have been "dumb" in your eyes, but for them, it was an idea, question, suggestion. You do not have to respond, but you do. Then when the person retaliates you cut them down more. When you could keep your trap shut and move on. But you do not do so. Then all of a sudden it is "drama". Boohoo. Waaaa. "I want my cake and eat it too. I am an administrator of this site, im a senior member of this site. I do this, I know that". I could care less what any of you think of ME. You are not my Dad/Mom, Husband/Wife, Brother/Sister, child, Aunt/Uncle etc. And personally, I do not care what they think of me either. I personally think any of you that posted anything negative in the threads of the "banned" needs a 90 suspension. You are the root. Sit back and reflect on yourself for a couple months. Think about how YOU want to be treated. Figure out how to "self edit" yourself. Learn how to pass over a post and not comment. Maybe there will not be "drama". You bring it on yourself. Then the "good'ole boy system" comes into effect. Not even going there. Most of you know what I mean.
Yes, I have spent an hour or more writing this. Self editing. Rewriting things to be more polite. Yes, I could pass over this thread, but I finally feel some of you (insert many words of profanity that you wish) need to be called out. Your comments, attitudes, and posts (degrating to thread starter) need to STOP!!!! Shut your mouth and move on!!! Time for me to take a break from this site for awhile too. I get pleny bent and hot reading some of the comments at times. Take this as you will. Like I said, I can care less what YOU think. But 1 person cannot cause drama. It takes a group to cause drama. A group like YOU. Take care. John Hand PS. Ban me too if you do not like what I say. |

i hear you Sam, its good to see the younger crowd interested in mechanics and older equipment but not at the expense of the rest of the community. i hope when my sons are older they take an interest in mechanics( only as a hobby, i hope there smart enough to work with there minds and not there backs like i do) and get enjoy the feeling you get when you bring something back from the dead or simply in being able to maintain there equipment properly.

I think the banned member isnt bad not trying to say he was right but is a good guy non the less. i think the banned members both deserve another chance as we all need them "Matthew 18:21-22 - Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven."

My beliefs on this sight are kinda along the lines of Hand_108,,,,
If there is something I do not like, I click the "Red X" in the upper right corner,, (yes, I use a PC, not an Apple,, )If it had not been for Justin, I would have not converted my Super to diesel; ![]() (Actually, I just wanted to post a pic of my new lawn mower,,, , so nobody really knows how I feel)

I hope this thread doesn't get closed like the rest of these just yet. I have to agree with a lot of what Hand is saying. I feel there are wrongs committed on both sides of the fence here.
It's more than the teenagers here. I don't know Justin but Nick and I have spoken several times. I've told him about his actions and how he gets carried away at times with posting nonsense and blowing up members and letting him know why and how certain people react to him in certain ways. He's starting to realize this and is learning from his mistakes I believe. Does he deserve another chance sometime? Yes. I think we all do There needs to be some self realization though. I and others have voiced our concerns when Jon has ruffled our feathers and have private messaged him at his request as well about these concerns. Others have PMd myself and other members and haven't wanted to speak up in fear of being retaliated against for one reason or another. There is a reaction that he evokes because of his personality and I'm not afraid to admit that and I hope he can understand that is happening. All he wants to do is get the correct information out there, and I respect that but he needs to realize his way of doing that is harsh a lot of times and people on the other end of that get pissed. The OP is stating this also as it happened recently. Let me make this clear that I don't have a problem with him, and I've told him that, but at the same time I think he wonders why there are people that do have a problem with him. I'm not a member of any ars kissing club and I see the frustration here but yes, the drama can be avoided and not prevoked by simply not posting to something. I get there has to be some policing but it's getting ridiculous at times. And actually I do care about not getting banned but I also don't like to see longer term members leaving or not posting anymore because of this.

I would like to add some additional information.
I see postings here that reflect what you guys see and read. I CAN assure you, there is more to the situation than what is being seen. We (Admin Team) have received numerous PM's, E-mails, and phone calls both from members as well as these two young men with a variety of things "they" think we should do. So, for us, we weigh all this and thus make a decision. It is a collective decision not just one person, and as Sam said.........we don't take it lightly nor not do our home work.

Guys, I won't close this thread. Maybe it's good to allow you guys to vent. So I'll toss in my 2 cents. I probably spend 4-5 hours everyday trying to help members get correct answers that allow them to fix there tractors. Pay sucks. I spend a considerable amount of time researching the web in order to give the best answer that I can as do the other mods. Realistically I stand nothing to gain if your tractor runs or not. I know how to fix my stuff, everything I own runs. I do have an issue when a member gives wrong info and then get's into an argument when someone points out that he or she is wrong.
The 2 members that are the center of attention have repeatedly posted or started threads asking a question, and it seems that when they don't get the answer they are expecting they go into argument mode. Yep I remember being a teen when I knew everything, funny but as I get older I realize that I was wrong on so many occasions (wish I could apologize to my Dad) but at least I was taught to treat my elders with respect something that seems to be sadly lacking today. I agree that maybe it would be smart if the Mods only made one post or no post's saying that they disagree with the poster that is giving wrong info and then let the rest of you guys have at it. Probably what I will do in the future, as I said if your stuff don't go not my problem and I'm seriously tired of being the bad guy. Guess I'll just move threads that in the wrong area or tell the new members that are only on OCC to sell stuff that they haven't complied with the rules. It will make life much simpler for me. Well I've said pretty much what I want to say so I'll shut up now cause I'm just an Old Man that doesn't get it. Happy Cubbing Kids.

This has nothing to do with Jonathan. The kid was conceited, rude, disrespectful towards his elders, and refused to listen. He was told to change his signature, he didn't, it got deleted, then he changed it to something else that was against the rules, so he also had a problem with authority and following rules. He suffers from a lack of education, and from his constant search from attention, maybe other issues. He is now on his third ban, and not surprisingly, peace came about immediately after he got banned. Ultimately he reaped what he sowed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
