As the title suggests, I have a friend who is looking for a mule drive for his Quietline. The only one I have is from a 682/782. Would the newer mule drive play nice with a Quietline?
![]() Personal opinion: I don't see why not, the only difference I know of is the pulleys would be 1/2 instead of 3/8 or whatever the case may be but should still work. Am I right or crazy? Or both?! ![]() ![]()

I can't remember which one , but the pulleys/shaft are in a different location between the two. One sets farther back and the other forward.
I think the pulleys on an 82 series mule drive set farther forward ?? I tried it once and the PTO belt had a severe angle. I never tried to run it like that , didn't want to try. |

I think the 82 series is set forward & don't think it'll work (the pulleys won't sit perpendicular to the PTO like they should). The Q-line/1x8-9 mule is quite a bit smaller and shorter as I recall.

The mule drive off a 1211 I know will not fit an quietline. It interferes with the latch. I assume the 1211 is like an 82 series.

Thank you gentlemen, I wasn't 100% sure but seems majority knowledge has out-ruled my guess

I could be wrong, I tried putting the quietline mule drive on the 1211 and it wouldn't fit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
