108 Issues
About 15 years ago my neighbour gave me a 108 as a spare mower. It worked like crap and then wouldn't move so I just stuck it in the barn. I just dug it out and decided to fix it as a spare for next summer. I originally figured it needed a clutch but then I was only on slooow dial up internet and couldn't find much
info. Yesterday I decided to pull it apart so I could order parts and make this a winter project for use next summer. When I moved the engine ahead the driveshaft just fell out, Broken pin.  It looks like I will need some rear tires also.Cheers, Barry

Congratulations on getting the 108 out and gettin her mowing again.
Yeah, a new spiral pin in the shaft, a little pto work and a patch on that tire and you may be up and runnin again. Sounds like you have a great neighbor.

I grew up on a 108 that my dad bought new in 1974. It is a tractor worth fixing.
Get a decent internet connection then start reading this forum. You'll learn everything you need to know about it. What is your primary mower?

that steel block for the pto has to go it will destroy your new thrust button like it did the old one, I recommend getting the bronze button that is sold on ebay or are vendors might have them now not sure, they last a lot longer then the standard fiber button and don't break when putting them in . I used a coomon bolt before to stop the pto and after using it twice my new thrust button was half gone already. the pto is pretty simple just make sure its clean so it will work without binding. For that tires buy new ones I try not to use anything with major dry rot, if it was me id replace that tire pronto as it will blow up, are you gonna change the tire at home or bring it some where ? good luck and have fun

Thanks for all the input guys. There is one issue with the mower deck and now that I have it pressure washed I will check that out. In September I am going to the military vehicle show in Gilbert PA so I will try to get parts sent to my hotel. That way I don't have to pay all the extra charges for shipping stuff across the border to Canada. I will be staying in Lehigh PA which looks close to Jeff in PA.
I will see if Amazon will ship to a hotel and get the tires Cadet Collector suggested. For Bob 95065 I hate to say it but my primary mower is a John Deere 316. Jeepchicken, I just bought a new tire changer at work and it will change these no problem. It will do from 6 inch to 22 inch. Now I can do all the wheel barrow and mower tires that I used to have to do by hand. Thanks again guys. Barry
