Raced R/C cars. Making custom carbon fiber parts for them got me started in
the business I run now. R/C airplanes too. The airplane club gave me the 129 that started me in Cubs and they haven't seen me since ![]()

In my twenties and thirties I raced dirt bikes and did a lot of bass fishing. After that I restored a few big rigs and hot rods but they take up lots of space. When my oldest son was eight we started fixing and flipping mowers for extra money. That turned into restoring old lawn and garden tractors which seemed to stay here. Our first keeper was a Massey MF8 after a few more I settled on two brands Cub Cadet and Allis Chalmers. I also have a 1932 Pioneer Red E with all the implements. Currently I have five garden tractors five modern tractors for flipping, two WD AC tractors and my 72 Monte Carlo. I'm out of space again, lol.

I got started with Oliver farm equipment when I was 14 and got my Grandpa's 60 Row Crop. I now have several Oliver tractors and implements and I'm getting back into full size tractors some, now that I have some ground. When I was a Junior in high school, I started a chapter of the Hart Parr Oliver Collectors Assn. here in Kansas, called the Central States HPOCA. I have picked up a Farmall SMTA and a 300 Utility along the way too. One side of the family had Oliver tractors and the other had IH, so it was natural to like these two brands. I always wanted a Cub Cadet and after starting my first full time job in 2005 I found the 125 that's in my profile picture, minus the sickle mower. A family friend bought it new with every option except a cig. lighter and had several implements for it at one time. I bought it from him with a 48" deck, IH rear blade and a spreader and started a 10 year and counting addiction.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
