Default A few pics from harvest

Just thought I'd share a few pics from this year's harvest thus far. Going has been good, no major breakdowns so far (knock on wood), and the crop is good (save for a few small down spots from a storm and lot of down trees along the treelines). Hope you guys enjoy the pics!

Cool pics Ryan. I miss doing harvest time on the farm. Did not have any fancy equipment like that either.

Yeah it's amazing the changes even from 12+ years ago when I drove my first big BIG boy toy. Cycling through gears double clutching hauling 2 wagons carrying maybe 500-600bu towards the end when we had the bigger wagons in an old TW-35 to now driving that T8 330 pictured above. Now I've got temp control down to the degree, auto-steer (if I feel like using it), push button gear changing, the grain cart holding 650+bu, two trucks each hauling 600-700bu. Heck, the combine now will hold up to 350bu with the whop top on it! The first grain cart we had (and still have and use) held something like 450-500bu. We used to run two older TR-85 (or TR-86, can't remember) combines supported by over 14 wagons 12 hour days were considered a short day! Now it's one combine that can easily outpick the old two combined, one (sometimes two) grain carts, one truck constantly hauling dry corn out, and one hauling wet in. Amazing what a dozen years will do. I can't imagine what we'll have in another 12 years!

Great pictures Ryan, thanks for sharing them. We lost the main bearing in the lower auger on the corn chopper just after noon today. So we're shut down for now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
