Thank you for the welcomes guys! I am very glad I picked up the 1650, my son loves it,,it is the only garden tractor I have ever owned that pulls the front wheels and rides wheelies,,,lol!
I still have a list of things to address, but it is getting shorter. I just finished up the rewiring a few weeks ago. I had a sporadic charging, then not charging issue. Tested the stator and reg/rec and all was good. Just turned out to be the connector on the reg/rec had a small piece missing on the backside of the plug and was losing connection. I just used insulated crimp on terminals to rewire most things on the tractor, along with new wires. I also had to replace the ignition as the terminals were loose and or breaking and the amneter was the same way. I only gave 400.00 for the tractor with a good condition 44in. mower deck and a 42in. plow. Oh yeah I had to replace the hydro control lever also as it broke on me and had been welded at one time. The engine got a .010 overbore and new piston and con rod and the valves replaced and ground. It doesn't have a single puff of smoke with great compression and lots of torque. Runs out of traction way before power. I still need to tune up the hydro linkage though. The trunion grooves aren't too deep but the springs still do stick, and there is slight rocking in the normal spot where people add shims. I plan to replace the tie rod ends on the hydro linkage as well while I am at it. New battery from Napa as well as cables and points, condensor, plug, plug wire, and checked the valve clearances. It has almost 1000hrs.,,,if it is correct,,but it is working. I'm not going to do a top notch auto paint job,,,although I could,,,as it will still be a worker. It gets lots of compliments when I'm out doing bigger jobs with it...it is amazing what they are capable of. Yeah I wouldn't mind trading in the 3910 and sell the Cub also when it is done and just get a compact tractor, but I like the simplicity of what I have..and I don't want to pay around 20K for a new tractor!! For what I do, what I have works just fine,,and it's fun to work on and work with.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
