My wife was looking at my muffler. Well not my muffler but my # 109's muffler. She thought it looks 'ICKY'. It does but solid as can be.
Question to anyone? Will High Temp black, paint work on it to spiff it up a bit? The one that they use for engine's? Or how about the paint for BarBq's? Or will I be starting other issue's? Thanks, Nik |

I've had good luck with bbq grille paint in the past on mufflers. It may need re-coating once in a great while, but it holds up pretty well for a working tractor.
I have also used VHT paint on several exhaust systems as well. Most recently on a 72' Honda CB750 4 into 1 Yoshi header and so far it has held up great. Thankfully this place (link below) is 20 minutes from my house, as I don't think you can just stop down to the auto parts store and pick this stuff up. I also used the engine enamel on a few CB's that I have restored over the years, and it holds up very well. http://www.caswellplating.com/vht/vht_high.htm Jeff (teet)

That muffler is probably 25 years old at least and might be original. Newer ones are painted black, I think.

Matt- I just painted mine yesterday with 1200 degree grill paint (Rustoleum). I used a wire wheel on the grinder to clean it up. It painted up beautifully, but I can't testify to how long it will last. I really liked the paint.

My local advance auto parts carries the VHT Ceramic paint. This stuff is great.
I did 2 mufflers last year with it and they still look great. I just wire brushed the mufflers good and put a couple of coats on them and then followed the directions on the can about warming up and cooling down a few times. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
