All are correct. I am still around, but working a lot..... I mean A LOT of hours. It's one of those deals everyone keeps saying "I wouldn't work like that on salary". Well.... I had to give up on my own business for one simple reason... lack of work. I didn't do anything wrong, it's just how it goes. I set up an business based on making X amount of dollars and those dollars just were there anymore. Anywho.... I took a job with Republic Services managing two shops about 25 miles apart for them. Total of 5 techs and around 60 pieces of equipment. The area I took over was basically neglected by the company and they are very interested in paying attention to it now. It's an acquisition site (Republic bought it from a competitor) and they didn't realize how large of a market it was until recently. I have done a lot of turn around in the maintenance department, and am working with some key "brass", along with the operations department, to get us where we need to be. I'm confident that all the long hours and hard work will pay off as I have been told "We are watching you, and so far we like what we see". I don't plan to stay at the bottom of the corporate "totem pole" for very long. The sooner I move up, the sooner life gets easier for me. Nothing like starting over after working for myself for nearly 15 years.

On top of that, the family (cousins of mine) that I help farm, one of the "boys" was severely injured in a car wreck. He was on his way to work (he works for a farm service company along with the family farm) and he pulled out in front of someone. It was a very foggy morning and we don't think she (driver of the other car) had her lights on. One of his vertebrae was crushed and a shard of bone is pointing at his spine. He is ok, but they were very afraid that if the bone moves he will be paralyzed. He is home now, and recovering. The family obviously was at his side in the hospital, right during harvest. I have been out running combine on any time I have to help them get the crop in. The neighbors all kicked in over the last couple weeks grabbing some of the families fields that were close to their own. I believe that they finished up here a couple days ago, but I hadn't been able to help, so not sure.

I still check in, but like Sam said, as long as all is good, I get back to work. I will say, that I see some threads that I sure wish I had the time to work with you guys on, but I just haven't. I took some time off this week to catch up on things that have long gotten away from me over the last 6 months, and hang out with family that is visiting. I'll try to hang around a little more in the future. See you guys!

I was also going to suggest harvest as one of the reasons you've been off here.

Glad to see you posting (offending) people again.

Hope everything works out with your cousin!

Good luck on the new job!

I'm not offended Daniel. I took it as more of a friendly jab. (Guys: don't think he meant anything negative by it.)

Nope. Didn't really take any pics this year. My lady snapped a couple with my phone from the "passenger seat" but that's about it.

Yes.... she was cold. I was not. LOL.

Yup, it was meant as a joke. Hence the smiley face. I've had a bit of web-interaction with Jon that I went with the benefit of the doubt. I'm not trying to get

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
