Default Free floating deck CC125

Hi, All-

Sorry in advance if this question's been asked 1,000 times before...I tried the search but am not good with this stuff.

Anyhow, I want to make the deck on my 125 float free...there's no way to do so currently...no rod release lock or wire bail to keep the button depressed. Can someone please point me in the right direction to do so?

Thanks,

CR

Is there a hole in the front of the handle about mid-way in the grip?

Default Deck

No hole in the front of the handle. The only hole is the one on top that allows you to raise/lower the deck and then locks it in place.

I had a friend tell me that people have made their own piece that allowed the deck to float during mowing to prevent 'scalping' the yard....true?

Thanks again for any advice!

Your lift handle should look like the first two pictures (that is an actual 125 attached to that handle).

About the only other option is the 3rd. picture it is on a 123 but should not be on your tractor.

OK now I've shown you mine... It's your turn.

Although, I do have a 70 here that someone put a chrome handle with the locking button on, haven't had a chance to look into that yet.

Hi, YS-

I'm out of town on business but will be home late tomorrow night. As soon as I get home I'll shoot a photo for you.

Mine must not be the original 125 lever as none of the ones in your photos are the same as the one that I have.

Thanks again!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
