Unfortunately my cat went missing about 2 weeks ago so we're assuming she died, its a shame to because she was on great hunter and killed everything in site. I once caught her in the yard playing with a chipmunk so I grabbed her and through her in the house so the chipmunk could make its escape, about an hour later I went in the house and she was still sitting by the door and proceeded to attack me as I walked by. You know your cats a bad mother when the two 100lb labs won't mess with her.

Sunflower seeds wedged under the trigger sometimes work when they're really clever. A pail with some seeds (grass seed works well) and trap under a hole in a cover also works pretty well on the hard to catch mice - they drop through the hole and land on the trap. My grandfather used an ear of corn hanging over the trap trigger with good success too.
We’ve had any number of mice and mousers. Went to use the sc2400 this past Spring - my wife had used it a couple times to mow during the previous week or two and my daughter had used it once. I wanted to drag the drive with it so I started it warming up while I switched over to blade from deck. Took it to the garage to air up one of the tires that goes flat intermittently and when I got there saw a mouse sitting on the running board looking at me. “This can’t be good.” Sure enough, very large mouse nest over the dash with lots of half-size mice running every direction. Glad it was me that discovered them - this story might have ended up in the next county! Mice were still bailing an hour later and after a good cleaning and hosing out. There was mouse nest down in the air intake even. They’ve tried again a couple times so I go up there and look occasionally. There was a big ol’ black snake living on the hillside where I park machines; haven’t seen him or his discarded skin lately so I guess he’s gone elsewhere. Had a close encounter with it one afternoon while clearing the trunk of a 1970 Spitfire that I was sending down to my nephew in Georgia. That snake came sliding out of the clothe cover when I lifted it out of the trunk; gave me a withering, depreciating look and slid off. The good mouser, a big yellow tabby male, passed away a couple years ago and so far no replacements have “stuck.” We’ve got a black kitten but she’s too small to be outside on her own; owls might make a meal of her. I think she’s going to be a good one though. She has quite an attack strategy. That big tabby was good at keeping the moles out of the yard too. |

I made what is supposed to be one of the best mouse traps, the deal is when the mouse walks into the can it spins and the mouse falls in. The bottom has about an 1 1/2" of water in it, if this works I'm going to make one for in the shed but I will probably have to use washer fluid so it doesn't freeze.

I have a larger version made out of a 5 gal pail out at the farm. Washer fluid works well.

We had a mouse in the shop a couple years back we couldnt catch to save our lives! We had a 5gallon bucket that had some old gas in it we drained out of an old tank. And had a yard stick leaning on the bucket, just by coincedense, and the next morning there were 2 mice in bottom of the bucket.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
